2026:
the four seasons change workshops
magic spelling workshops
All living things in nature respond to the different cycles, the most obvious being the four seasons. And yet 'us humans' typically fight against this!
How can we better manage change, the relationships that matter to us, and to our various life transitions?
How can we restructure our internal subjective experience in a way that brings fresh and helpful perspectives on all of life's challenges?

"It was always positive change. Phil is a unique coach whose primary focus is my change, interested in finding the most effective tools and skills that can be used to inspire change.”
These four one-day workshops promise to fascinate intrigue and inspire you, offering simple yet profound tools and principles to apply immediately in your life.
The emerging themes throughout the year relate to each season. Join at any time.

Despite being regarded as a crucial and fundamental language skill; being able to spell does not come naturally to everyone. Creative, talented, intelligent people who may also be avid readers - do not necessarily find spelling easy.
1 in 6 (18% / 6.6 million people) adults aged 16 to 65 in England have very poor literacy skills.
(National Literacy Trust 2024)
Phil set up his first Magic Spelling Club back in 2004, whilst working as a coach in Inner City London.
Different versions sprang up in the primary and secondary schools, charities, and family centres he worked with over the following 16 years or so. Children - mostly in Year 3 (7-8 years old) would come along and also bring their friends.
Those children who 'qualified' as certified spelling coaches would arrive to set-up early, and then enjoy helping their friends learn the magic spelling technique. (Over 30 children each week would come - and because they wanted to:)
Before coming to the club, many were known to really struggle with 'spelling difficulties', and were noticeably waning generally in confidence in school. And yet, after one or two weeks, they were returning to their classes eager to show off their ability to spell long and difficult words forwards and - just because they could - backwards!
Dinosaur names were always a favourite!
Curious teachers came along to the clubs to find out what the the 'magic' was - and often stayed to learn the trick for themselves.
The technique comes from the 1970's when NLP (neuro linguistic modelling) was first developed. NLP is concerned with the internal mental processes and structures that 'naturally talented' individuals unconsciously use. Spelling was one such activity modelled by NLP. Phil, as a Master NLP Practitioner, has taken the findings from those early days and adapted the resulting NLP Spelling Strategy, into a child-friendly approach. Children have fun working in groups - with each taking turns across the four roles; The Reader, The Window Cleaner; The Postie, and of course, The Coach. Sound effects and fun movements are added in, along with 'Spelling Superstar' TV interviews, and other tricks.
The technique also works well at home - and for individuals of any age. (The oldest of Phil's clients was a successful business owner and 'lifelong dyslexic' in her 50's, who as a result of learning the technique was then able to follow her dream of signing up for an OU degree.

“Just thought you might like to know that I got a A* for my science test. That is 25% of my final mark and is really great. My science teachers have suggested that I sit an As first module Physics in January one year before I should. That is really great news don’t you think? Thanks Again.”
A private student diagnosed with dyslexia, after one 90 minute session. He'd previously been predicted d/e grades – but ended up with 10 grade A GCSE’s!
Phil is now based in East Devon and is looking to launch a Magic Spelling Club at The Pebble Brook Clinic, Newton Poppleford, Sidmouth EX10 0BJ.
